Sure Of

Sure Of
Brian West

I have been given a gift; I have been given a promise
The more I pour my heart out, the more it will heal.
Jesus is all that I need; He hasn't left me with nothing--
But if these songs ever came between Him and me,
I would walk away; I would walk away.

I have examined my priorities to discover one good thing,
The thing that I must will, just to be pure.
It doesn't matter what good songs I sing, if I choose not to obey
The words my blessed Master has given to me.
It's the love I must be sure of, the love I must be sure of.

You have been given a gift; you have chosen to promise
To lay down your life for a woman, like Christ for the church
Days are composed of the minutes; months are made up of the days.
How easy it gets to ignore her in so many ways
Just to drift away, just to drift away

You've got to nail down your priorities, the foundations of your soul,
The people and commitments you need to endure
It doesn't matter what good gifts you bring if you will not give each day
Your heart to whom the Master has given to you.
It's the love you must be sure of, the love you must be sure of.

'Cause when we examine our priorities and we find the few good things,
The people and commitments of which we are sure
No matter how we sacrifice our lives to the needy of each day,
If we lack love, it's dried up and blowing away.
It's the love we must be sure of, the love we must be sure of.
