God has been at work
Through the ages, 'round the world
At its best, tradition
Is the Spirit's voice, distilled
Let us bless and cherish
What our God has revealed
Let us honor these roots together

Chorus:
Step by step, side by side
We will walk together
Hand in hand, left and right
There is just one body
In our Lord Jesus Christ
We will live as one, together

Weep no more, people of God.
He will show you grace when He hears your cry.
He will answer you.

Your affliction will not be in vain.
He is suff’ring with you each and ev’ry day.
He will answer you.
