Last Supper

Last Supper
Brian West

Make space for Passover
So together we may eat
Where is the guest room,
Furnished and complete?
Ask and you’ll find it
The promise will be there fulfilled
Before My flesh is pierced
And My blood is spilled

How I have longed to eat
With you this Passover meal
For I won’t eat it again
Until it is fulfilled
In God’s kingdom;
Its fullness will be there revealed
Bread and wine will, in time,
Point to how you will be healed

King of the universe,
Lord and Father of us all
Bread from the earth You bring
Forth to feed both great and small
Blessed are You, Maker
Of the fruit upon the vine
Grape and grain crushed, they are
Now this bread and now this wine

Take this bread, broken, My
Body, given for_ you
Through this remember Me,
Let me feed and live in you
Take and share this cup, new
Covenant made in my blood
Which I have shed for you;
In such giving is true love
