It's not natural--this woman's still a virgin;
How am I to believe that God would conceive a Child within her?

Patently unworthy to aspire to royalty,
Doubtlessly a poor, deluded, peasant family,
Urged along by foreigners proclaiming prophecies--
I can smell the scent familiar of rebellion

I can see the shadows of the vultures' patient wings;
Miscreants and fools would love to make or be made king
In the end, they're happy just to spread their suffering:
This situation calls for my solution

I am so important, or that's how I behave,
So unlike the Christ I claim to follow
He could've used His power; instead He chose the grave,
Obedient to the Father's faithful calling

Duty, love, and honor turn their eyes to me,
So I may seek the strong, and pure, and noble
But in my land of fancy, I look and do not see
How God's self-sacrifice could make us hopeful
