My Conversation with God | Christianity Today

This story ROCKS! :^) I really believe that God speaks to us. But because I can't provide a mechanical, static, repeatable definition (which our society, or perhaps just our human desire for control, seems to demand) for how and when God speaks, there are many faithful Christians I've met who discount the possibility of God speaking today. Or at least they don't believe that it's common--to them it seems to be something that happens to a precious, chosen few. I believe it's more common than that. But since we can't "prove" it (in the laboratorial, repeatable scientific experiment sense), we're left with narrative. Witness. Testimony.

Interesting interview

In my continuing battle to find a satisfying hybrid between the stereotypical dichotomy between politically "liberal" and "conservative" (blech!), I found this interview interesting. I've never heard of this guy before, but it's nice to know there are people out there saying things like this.

Tired of being misunderstood by people who seem to only understand the package deals our major political parties put forth, I want to lay out some of the things I believe. If all you know are those popularized package deals, these items may seem disjointed or contradictory. My goal and hope is to be obedient to Christ; I hope these beliefs reflect that. So... in no particular order...

Because power corrupts, the government can do little, if anything, with excellence.
