Glory, Hallelujah
When our time on Earth is over, and we say goodbye to this life
We'll wake up to meet our Maker and receive our reward
In an instant of perfect vision, we'll see where we wasted our time
In all that we built without waiting on the Lord
Everything falls, everything fails
Except for the One whom the angels hail, crying...
Glory, glory, hallelujah
The Lord in heaven is laughing
The plans of the politicians are visions in vain
Don't put your hope in the things that won't last
Build on the One who is worthy, singing
Glory, glory, hallelujah
We see through a glass of riddles, clouded, hazy, and dim
Our loyalties here can confuse us, and steal us away
But when their foundations are tested, when trials and troubles begin
The houses we’ve built on the sand will be betrayed
Everything falls, everything fails
Except for the One whom the angels hail, crying...
Glory, glory, hallelujah
The Lord in heaven is laughing
The plans of the politicians are visions in vain
Don't put your hope in the things that won't last
Build on the One who is worthy, singing
Glory, glory, hallelujah

NASHVILLE SONGWRITERS ASSOCIATION INTERNATIONAL SONG EVALUATION
********************************************************************
EVALUATORS OPENING: Hey Brian, this is #89. thanks for using the NSAI song evaluation service. this is song #2 for this session.
FORM/STRUCTURE:V channel C V channel C
HOOK/IDEA: "Glory, Hallelujah" -good hook
LYRIC:overall good lyric. Here are my thoughts and suggestions...
RHYMES: no rhyme scheme in the chorus...? my ear was waiting for a rhyme with 'laughing'...then I heard 'vain'...then 'last...ing???' then another new one...I think you could do
Hallelujah
laughing
vain
'lasting'
sing'
Hallelujah...of course you'd have to 'adjust' your lyric...but I want to hear something rhyme in there...
CONTENT; FIRST VERSE IS GOOD....'you have to 'think about' the line "we'll see where we wasted our time"...I'm thinking 'where'...you say "in all that we built (what did we build?)" then 'without waiting on the Lord'...do you mean 'serving' him, or waiting for him to help us? This is not clear.
VERSE2:; 'THEIR' foundations...who is 'their'?
MELODY/METER (IF APPLICABLE): Nice feel (I love mandolin)...Good differentiation between the verse/channel and chorus.
COMMERCIAL VIABILITY:song has potential
CLOSING COMMENTS:Really nice melody, I really like the last chorus a lot! Very singable...clear up the confusion...remember you want it to be 'overly obvious'...can't expect people to 'read into your message'...tell us what it is.
