Water Into Wine
You start your ordinary day, get on the treadmill once again
Your dreams will slowly fade away, while your to-do list never ends
But as you blend into the background, working hard behind the scenes,
You're invisible to some, but your work is not unseen
CHORUS:
You are clear, cool, cleansing water
Flowing through each moment of time
And as you pour each day into the hands of God
He turns your water into wine
You know the ways you've learned to cope; you know the shape of your routine
This is the most you've ever hoped for: to play your part in the machine
But the life that you were made for goes beyond your daily job
You're a stream within the River that brings glory to our God
Chorus
BRIDGE:
Rivers carve the valleys, and rain feeds thirsty lands
But when the hard work turns to harvest, the banquet can begin
Chorus

EVALUATORS OPENING: Hey Brian, this is #89. Thanks for using the NSAI song evaluation service.
FORM/STRUCTURE:V channel C V channel C
HOOK/IDEA: "water into wine" -good hook
LYRIC:Brian, overall this is a good lyric. Here are my thoughts and suggestions.
RHYMES: 'scenes/unseen'...pretty much the same word...
bridge: 'land/begin'...it didn't sound strong enough to my ear going by...
CONTENT: Well this is not one of those lyrics that you can just 'sort of follow along'...I followed the first 2 verses okay, and 'went with the idea' of the first 2 lines of the chorus, that we're all part of this 'big river'...What I don't get is 'when God gets the water he turns it into wine"...so what does this mean in everyday 'routine' life? It's not clear to me...
BRIDGE: this seems off topic...
MELODY/METER (IF APPLICABLE):Nice feel. Good differentiation between the verse/channel and chorus...good bridge melody...
COMMERCIAL VIABILITY:melodically sounds commercial
CLOSING COMMENTS:Brian, I like this overall lyric. I just don't get the main point of 'turning the water (us) into wine'...so you need to 'spell it out'...for the listener.
