The Giver
When I lay down, still and quiet, I haven't quite fallen asleep
There's another soul beside me that I pray for the Lord to keep
At times I forget to be grateful for the marvel and bloom of each day
But somehow this silence reminds me just to say . . .
You are the Giver, and You've given this moment to me
You have parted this lonely dark sea--
I walk in the land of Your living, embracing the gift of The Giver
When I'm stretched thin, to my breaking, I cling to my unconquered pride;
It's a wall of my own making that's keeping Your comfort outside
But somehow I turn my eyes toward You, and the misery cannot remain
Remembering how I adore You, I can say . . .
You are the Giver, and You've given this moment to me
You have parted this lonely dark sea--
I walk in the land of Your living, embracing the gift of The Giver
At times I forget to be grateful for the marvel and bloom of each day
But somehow this silence reminds me just to say . . .
You are the Giver, and You've given this moment to me
You have parted this lonely dark sea--
I walk in the land of Your living, embracing the gift of The Giver
The gift of The Giver, The gift of The Giver
