We were born to write and carve
We were made to paint and sing
Forgiven, now we build and breathe

Pray for the explosion
Of wonder, truth, and light
That beauty, mind, and soul
Would soar through us tonight
Pray for the in-flowing
Of fairy tale and hymn
As we draw near the Creator
May we all create like Him

Both butterfly and hippo,
Amoebas and mastodons,
Hawk and jack-in-pulpit,
Mole and ocean dawn,

The grace of time and story,
The souls who've gone before:
These witnesses surround us
And urge: "Create some more!"

We need always for purity
To stretch, in self-control,
But excellence and joy
Are health and life unto the soul
